Déjà Vu

I fell in love with you if only in a dream.
I’ve held you in my arms before, or so to me it seemed.
We’ve climbed these stairs and walked down these halls
Which hold the echoes of you name from all the times that I have called.

The dream came true on a Saturday afternoon
When I had the feeling I’ve been here before with you.
When we walked into the room, it felt so real, so right,
Just like the dream, I fell in love with you, if only for a night.

The times come again to lay to rest the worries of the day.
I wonder if you’ll visit me tonight in my dreams of if you’ll stay away.
The flesh is weak.  The hunter is asleep and I quickly fall its prey.
The dreams race through my mind and there I find you waiting once again.

Our souls embrace.  I softly kiss your face.
Morning pushes aside the night time.
The dreams come true.  I awaken next to you.
