I Love You in the Sand
By Joseph McGowan
On a bright sunny day
We’d walk down by the sea
And she’d take my hand
Leaving behind all of the world’s worries
To write, “I love you” in the sand
Under the sun so bright
She’d make me smile
Just to look into her eyes
We’d run across the sand
To beat the rising tide
Such a peaceful feeling
I’d take her hand
As we walked along the shore
The sun sparkled as the waters graced the sand
For our love has no cure
Endlessly I would walk
With you down by the sea
But time will not let us
Nor will reality
So I’ll write about our sunny day
And just let it be our
Time we spent, the love that’s meant
To be, of our now distant memory
