Joey (Mommy Loves You)
By Joseph McGowan
Mommy loves you more than you know
Loves to watch you as you grow
Loves to tickle and watch you walk
Loves your laugh and loves your talk
Mommy’s there for you, and when you’re not feeling well,
Mommy’s always the first to tell
Mommy wipes away your tears and gives you hugs and kisses
And when she’s away from you, that’s the time she most misses
She loves to dress you up and let you take her for a walk
As you hold her hand,
for she knows these times are precious
And some day you’ll be a man
For it’s funny, Mommies know that these times will pass
If she could, she’d keep you just as you are, but alas
She knows she can’t and she has to settle for her memories of you to last.
Sure, she has pictures of your smiling face,
But a picture of you can’t replace
Your smile, your giggle,
Your crazy little walk, your curly hair, your sweet cry, your baby talk
Mommy loves you more than you know, my little Peanut, our precious little Joe
