Our House

“Welcome to our house,” they said with a smile,
“Haven’t seen you in so long, won’t you come in and stay a while?”
Please make yourself at home and get cozy by the warm fireplace.

It’s so good to see you again, we sure missed your smiling face.
Yes, it’s been a long time we’ve been on our own,
A lot of time has gone by.  My, how our children have grown.

It’s nice to look back and reminisce on our old times
For the laughs we’ve shared, the tears we’ve cried are the ties that bind.
I’d like to take this time to say on this joyous night,

May we be blessed with health and happiness and our futures shine bright.
I’d like to thank you all for the love you’ve shown every time I’ve walked through your door
You’ve always made me feel right at home, but I guess that’s what friends are for.

I remember back as I stare into the fireplace flame.
And I think to myself, the more things change, the more they stay the same.
