Shining Star

On you may the stars always shine

May all of your dreams come true and your cup overflow with wine

Like the sun, may you glow with warmth from its eternal fire
And in you heart may it eternally burn with love and desire

Like a mighty river flows may you always stay true
May your conscience stay clear as a summer sky is blue
May you live long like a mighty sequoia tree
And stand as proud and tall with its majestic beauty

May you be full with compassion, faith and love
For those are the tools God has given you as he watches from above
May you guide your children like the compass arrow
Teaching them right from wrong and keeping them on the straight and narrow

May you live prosperously and grow wiser the older you become
Never forgetting the humble beginnings you once came from
May the clover’s luck watch over you in fate
To help ease your burdens of this world’s tremendous weight

May the hands of time gently caress your youthful face
May you hold your head up high as you walk through life with elegance and grace
May you have family and friends that will give you a needed lift
May you never have to walk in another man’s shoes, for your life is such a gift

And as the sun slowly sets upon the life here as we know
May you live your final days in peace and have no foe
You have my blessings and God’s.  You know that’s true
But most of all, may the stars always shine on you
