“Cosmosis 2” Water Wall

This acrylic water wall finished in “Cosmosis” is located in our Gallery in Ontario, CA.

This water feature starts off as a blank palette to which I painted the whole feature solid black.  The reason for the color choice coincides with the overlay of colors that I will apply.  I wanted to use only paints that would change color (see pics below) as you view it from different angles.  The painting techniques used on this water feature were conceived through countless hours of experimenting with different paint textures, overlay techniques and application techniques.  There is not one single brush stroke or airbrushed paint applied after the initial coats of primer and the basecoat are applied. 

Everything on this water feature has been applied using techniques I have developed over my life as an artist.  Therefore no two paintings will ever be the same.  I do not like to paint in the confines of the traditional artist, rather I use my raw energy in applying the paint to the substrate, and let the paint, along with motion, dictate what you will eventually see.

By applying paint in this process strange shapes and hidden images seem to appear, limited only by what the mind can see.  The longer you view the painting the more images you seem to find.  Are they intentional, or are they coincidental?
